Games | Weekly Game Releases | Week of December 4th, 2007: Ugh, another bust weak. Get it? Weak? It's like a week, but it's weak! Hey, don't blame our humor for being lame -- blame these games for failing to inspire our usual brilliance.

Game of the week | Nothing, again

Video Game Kitty was angry at first to realize that for the second week in a row there was nothing decent to purchase. But then Video Game Kitty realized that now he can finally play all the games he's been putting into his backlog because this has been an incredible few months. So Video Game Kitty is, like, mellow. Have a little catnip, dude. Yeah.

Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 If you don't know what 'Dance Dance Revolution is by this point, then I just don't know what we should do with you. Kick over your rock, maybe, and force you to scurry out of your hidey-hole in the 1990s. This installment brings more licensed songs, online play and downloadable song packs. Time to dance like a spaz. Go, spaz, go!

American Girl: Julie Finds a Way I don't have anything to talk about this game in terms of its gameplay, but I'd love to talk about the cover art. I'm not sure exactly what she's holding, but I'd like to imagine it's one of those levers that villains always pull that sends the hero and his companions into the lowest level of the dungeons to fight the evil monster that has been starved and is hungry.
Oh, Julie, you evil bitch.

Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2008 The billionth Yu-Gi-Oh release is just like the other ones, but it has new cards! And that's it! Same bad hairstyles, same pandering-to-ten-year-olds design.

The Golden Compass The video game based on the movie based on the book. The math formula that always spells success! I rather liked Philip Pullman's novels (the His Dark Materials trilogy, for those interested), but they'll almost certainly mess this up in the transition to other media. I doubt the game's even worth picking up, because it's bound to be the same shovelware crap that we're always given for movie releases.

Alvin and the Chipmunks A live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks? No. No. NO.
A game based upon the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks? See previous answer.

Draglade This actually looks like it could be an interesting game. It's some sort of beat-'em-up game, with one-on-one fights as well as exploration. You can also customize your characters. Seems like an interesting purchase, but I don't know enough to actually say much more. It's Atlus, which means it could become rare. But it's the kid-friendly side of Atlus, which means probably not.

Left Brain, Right Brain What a great idea! A game for the Nintendo DS that focuses on training the brain and keeping it active! If only more companies would get in on this, maybe the world would be a smarter place.

Ultimate Duck Hunting No, this isn't Duck Hunt. It's just something for the Cabela's crowd. Your stupid dog won't even laugh at you. Move along, people.

Video Game Kitty's crazy cousin, Crazy Kitty, isn't too happy with the games coming out this week. And he's going to express his disapproval, too. The instant you turn your back he's gonna pee on your bedspread.
Talk about how crappy these games are!
