Hey, so I’m in Hawaii at the moment. My wife got a gig shooting a wedding this evening on Kona, so basically we blew her profits from the job on a plane ticket for me and a week at a timeshare resort. Frivolous spending, yes, but I have no idea when I’ll ever have another chance to fly out here effectively expenses paid. So even though I’m sick of travel and wearily homesick after the most tumultuous year of my life, sometimes you gotta suck it up and force yourself to have fun. Poor me, I know.

At the moment, I’m a little jet lagged and very, very sick from a sinus infection I picked up the day after Christmas; it’s great that my little nephews and nieces in Raleigh took an instant shine to me as soon as we moved out there, but the downside to their outpouring of tiny affection is that they love for me to pick them up and play with them to ensure I am constantly enwreathed in their disease du jour. So the next Anatomy of Metroid is going to be a few days while I sit and recover in beautiful weather. Sorry!
