Animal Crossing: New Leaf has a shop called Kicks, where a skunk sells you shoes.
As with all the game’s haberdashers, Kicks lets you try on shoes before you buy them so you can see if you like the way they look. Kicks also sells socks — never mind that they often can’t even be seen on your character, depending on your outfit, but you can buy them anyway.
The thing that really strikes me, however, is the fact that socks are the one item your character can’t try on. You have to buy them sight-unseen. Because it would just be unsanitary to try on undergarments, right? It’s so interesting, the things that this game’s creators chose to invest effort and attention to.

Damnit, I wish I had a top hat! I’ve been waiting for one to show up in the store.
This affront is just salt in the wounds :(
Actually, that pic was one I found online. But I do have a top hat. Wah hah!
Heh, I noticed the socks thing, too. Had me scratching my head for a moment before it dawned on me why.
