They make for some really awesome desktop backgrounds.
I’m proud to say that I have, to date, resisted the urge to do a Google Image Search for Samus, shrink down the result, and pretend to run it through the levels.

Less a reference to a webcomic, but changing your pointer/cursor into Samus could also have a similar effect!
I used to have a map of Link’s Awakening’s overworld (half size) as my desktop background. It fit perfectly.
