The site — this site — is supposed to be going offline for a few hours tonight while my webhost relocates the servers or something. So if it vanishes, don’t worry. It wasn’t fired over a disagreeable review or anything.
Also, I’d like to take a moment to assure all GameSpite contributors that I, as owner of this site, will never bow to advertiser pressure and sack you for a negative review, no matter how critical it may be.
That’s one harsh burn, dude.
What about the time you threatened to fire me if I didn’t make “Big Momma’s House 2” the Pick of the Week EVERY WEEK? I finally had to resort to threatening to post those incriminating pictures of you on the interwebs before you softened your stance.
Harsh burn? Nah, I’m just kind of disgusted right now. Disgust tends to ooze out as snark.
VsRobot: I’m glad you didn’t give in, because we all know “Black Knight” is the superior Martin Lawrence vehicle.
Man, screw both you guys. It’s all about Nothing to Lose.
I thought we were being ironic, because I like Nothing to Lose.
Jerk.
Bad Boys 2 FGJ! But on a serious note, I’ll be curious to see what the fall out will be for Gamespot. Certainly the “Core Gamers” that live on message boards will have lost respect for the site, but will it matter? I guess they could always team up with GamePro to become a site I don’t read…
Gamespot’s always been pretty big on making gaming news feel respectable and mainstream, so I imagine their audience extends beyond the hardcore — so even if this pans out for the worst, I don’t think it will impact their fortunes in a general sense. I mean, non-gaming news pretty much IS driven by ad revenue these days, so it’s not like concerns over integrity keep most people from watching CNN or ABC.
“I don’t think it will impact their fortunes in a general sense.”
That might be the most depressing part.
But quit dodging the real issue, Parish: what’s YOUR favorite Martin Lawrence flick?
Who would have thought that GameSPOT would be more spiteful than GameSPITE?
Good. Because if you did, I would totally boycott every advertiser on this site.
That Gamespot story is quite sad…
Is there a video game that feels like a Jean Michel Jarre album besides Another World? That would be awesome.
“But quit dodging the real issue, Parish: what’s YOUR favorite Martin Lawrence flick?” – Calorie Mate
Oh, come on Calorie Mate! Asking someone what’s their favorite Martin Lawrence movie is like asking which is their favorite child!
…
I’m glad I’m not saying this in person because that would be hard to do with a straight face.

Aww, it didn’t work.
Damn, I put a lot of effort into that.
Worst post ever. A–
Ah, System’s Twilight – how can we make a new Cliff Johnson game when he’s off doing other stuff?
