Oh hi! Busy week. Here’s what I’ve been working on.

During daylight hours:

• I wrote a giant retrospective on the occasion of the Game Boy’s 20th anniversary. Admittedly it’s not as huge as the thing we did for its 20th anniversary, but hey.
• I also put together a list of my top 25 Game Boy titles, a mix of favorites and important releases. I’m really disappointed that I couldn’t come up with a list that includes more original titles as opposed to sequels and spin-offs; I personally take that more as a personal failing than as a sign that the Game Boy lacked strong original content. I think it’s out there in desperate need of discovery. Unfortunately I also biffed the Kirby write-up. I need to go back and replay those games, I guess.
• Unrelated, I checked out Drinkbox’s new game, Severed, which gave me the strangest Adventure Time vibe.

Meanwhile, in my secret nocturnal identity:

• I’ve resumed my analyses of Mega Man with weirdly lengthy pieces on Cut Man and Elec Man‘s stages.

I also made a delicious salmon salmoriglio with broccolini last night, but I’m afraid I can’t share that with you.
