I cannot think of a single clever way to tie Thanksgiving to Brütal Legend, so I’m just going to post this article, wish you a happy holiday, and feel foolish for not putting together a Scott Pilgrim write-up instead.

This almost makes me want to go play the game. I’m one of the ones that has to admit that I was intrigued by the premise, but turned off by most of the reviews and the mere _mention_ of heavy RTS elements.
“Heavy” RTS elements is going pretty far. There’s no resource juggling, base management, or control groups to worry about. It’s just, here’s some points that tick up. Capture these points to make’em go faster, spend them to summon various flavors of helpful goons with different situationally useful powers. So Pikmin rather than StarCraft.
Stop. You’re almost pushing me over the edge to go get the game. I need to save my money!
I don’t think Brutal Legend is going to put you in the poor house, my friend:

I’ve read just about every article on GS, and this one is easily my favourite, for two primary reasons. The prose is lively and entertaining, and at times quite funny. Also, it makes me completely rethink a game about which I had thought I had made my mind up. I quite liked Brutal Legend, but never did finish it. I still don’t think I’ll go back to it, but now I feel I’ve got a new perspective on it. Very nicely done.
Sooooo… it would have been more appropriate to, on Thanksgiving, put up an article about a graphic novel/movie/game set in a place where they celebrated Thanksgiving last month, before Halloween? I’m not following you.
Not sure if that’s sarcasm, but uh…
pilgrim
Actually, my brain just completely failed to make the connection between “Scott Pilgrim’s last name” and “people who colonized America.”
I blame being Canadian.
