Uh oh, it’s happening again

“Surely there’s gotta be at least an Agility Orb at the top of the Transamerica Pyramid,” I thought to myself. “Now I just need to figure out how to get up there.”

  1. Hah, and I was just looking at my building today and thinking about how to jump to the top of it if it were in Crackdown. Well done, Agent.

  2. Take the elevator? You could probably jump to it, but I’m assuming you haven’t leveled that up skill yet…

  3. That’s not as bad as the summer I got hooked on FFXI, and tried targeting IRL strangers by pushing the D-pad in my mind, so I could see their names. That was a defining moment, and about the time I switched primarily to handhelds. Uh, yeah.

  4. I played Assasin’s Creed 2, Uncharted 2, and Peace Walker in rapid succession. I don’t know what to believe anymore, other than the fact that I now consider myself an ultimate weapon capable of scaling any building and snapping any neck.

Maybe I should give Infamous and Crackdown go?

  5. I wish that Crackdown 2 would come to the PS3, the only reason being that I only own a PS3…

  6. On the school bus in about fifth grade I used to have fever dreams of Mario accompanying me, running across the rooftops of Wilmington. Coo, what a sight.

  7. I noticed in the Crackdown 2 demo that they quoted Jeremy saying: “Crackdown 2 has it all”.

Personally, the demo did not bode well to me (I used the infinite time glitch). In short, everything I saw about Crackdown 2 is either worse than or exactly the same as the 1st game. The missions were tedious, boring “Protect this spot for some time” type rather than the assassinations which were a more open and diverse type of missions with many ways to tackle. The new abilities can only be obtained when on the highest level, otherwise you’re the same. The mag grenade is fun for playing around but not terribly useful. And there are no transforming cars.

I’m still liking it and plan to play it though not immediately after launch. I was hoping for some newness in the game especially with the 3+ years of waiting.

  8. Same sort of thing happens to me after playing a lot of Assassin’s Creed. I was just in Europe recently and kept figuring out how to scale all the churches and monuments we visited.

  9. I guess it’s for the best that I won’t be able to pick this up before leaving my 360 for a year. Not sure the Chinese authorities would appreciate my attempts to nab those Agility Orbs spread throughout the Forbidden City

  10. Makes me want to pop in some ol’ Crackdown… (doesn’t make me want to go out and spend $60… well $53.96 w/ $10 off next game purchase coupon to be exact… on Crackdown 2 yet though!)

  11. When you first posted this entry, I had never played Crackdown and I didn’t get it. Now I get it!
