See Palom’s “Twin” skill, there? In Final Fantasy IV DS, it’s called “Twincast.” And thanks to the human filth that litters the Internet, every time I see that menu option I read it as “Twincest” and feel sad. Luckily, you can customize each character’s menu and remove unwanted skills. I hate to crimp my tactical options, but I think preserving my sanity is worth the compromise.
Speaking of FFIV, the remake’s version of Dr. Lugae is the most horriblest boss ever made.
Horrible as in “like a horrible pun” or as in “he’ll ream you up the ass the first time you fight him”?
The more you talk about FFIV for the DS, the less I want to play it despite originally being incredibly psyched about it.
As in “he’s the first boss to actually beat me, and on my second attempt I barely squeaked by with everyone dead except Yang, who had 200 HP and was literally about one click of the ATB meter from taking a fatal punch to the face.”
I don’t understand why everyone finds this so intimidating! Getting your butt kicked is awesome.
It is awesome, provided it’s usually my fault I got my butt kicked. Can I trust that’s the case in FFIV DS?
I agree! Beating a boss at the last possible second in an it-or-you situation is just about the most satisfying feeling I get when playing games.
Webcest!
Damn you Parish!!
Now I’M going to have that word stuck in my head!
I think Gary Glitter would love to have a DS in jail.
Anyway, talking about crazy stuff on the Internet. I just played “Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden” and it definetly deserves a comercial release. It would be like Soccer RPG for Saturn, but cooler. I also heard a Soccer RPG is in the works for DS, I really hope it gets released outside japan.
Does it do less pain when you spread it to others? Why did I need to know another bad pun and disturbing internet waves of sickness?
Now I wonder, what is Parish doing browsing where he might encounter Twin cest sites? Tee hee :P
Thankfully NOT our forums (yay search function).
And don’t you DARE change that guys. I think that’ll be ban-hammer worthy.
Man, I wish this were something you had to go looking for, but it’s actually the sort of thing that crawls out of the Internet’s sewer of its own accord and comes looking for you.
Lucky me. There’s a TransFormer in Japan named “Twincast” (Autobot Blaster rebuilt and renamed), so I’m already used to the term on its own.
the whole game was pretty tough, but Lugae in particular was clearly forged in the dankest pits of hell. horrible!
Hmmm . . . Maybe I should just buy this game. I was holding out on it, but it seems like the sheer difficulty will accurately recreate just how bad I was at RPGs when I first played this in 3rd grade.
If Lugae is so troublesome now, imagine what Dark Bahamut and Ogopogo (or is it Tidalithan now?) will be like.
Yayz!
Thanks, Parish. I used to rename them after me and my brother (this was before I discovered how annoying they were, to be fair). But now you’ve ruined it for me forever. *sob*
“Ogopogo (or is it Tidalithan now?)” Wow. I’m really not sure which of those names are worse.
“but it’s actually the sort of thing that crawls out of the Internet’s sewer of its own accord and comes looking for you.”
4chan then?
Ogopogo has the slight advantage of being an actual mythical creature, rather than an awkward portmanteau.
“Ogopogo has the slight advantage of being an actual mythical creature, rather than an awkward portmanteau.” True. And ogopogo is a palindrome too.
